According to Sport1, the football world is still discussing the rescinding of the red card given to US striker Flalin Balogun in the World Cup Round of 16 match against Belgium.

Despite failing to prevent the United States from losing to Belgium, there is still widespread resentment towards FIFA's decision, which is allegedly influenced by US President Donald Trump.
Former German goalkeeper Oliver Kahn's reaction to Balogun's pardon was more than just sarcasm. He posted on social media: "If we start rewriting football history after the fact, I have a little suggestion..." Kahn continued: "I would like FIFA to rescind the yellow card shown to Ballack in the 2002 World Cup semi-final, which prevented him from playing in the final."
He concluded by writing, "Since we're on this topic, why don't we play that final against Brazil again?"
Back then, Kahn, despite playing brilliantly, made a mistake that allowed Ronaldo to score Germany's first goal.
The Barack incident prompted rule adjustments.
FIFA is unlikely to grant Kahn's wish again. However, the Ballack incident at least prompted a rule adjustment before the 2010 World Cup, with yellow cards being reset after the quarterfinals.
Since then, players have no longer missed the final due to receiving a card in the semi-final.
